Tail-end farmers upbeat over water release

MADHIRA (Khammam dt.): Farmers in tail-end ayacut of the Nagarjunasagar left canal, particularly those under the Madhira branch canal, who had for long been left high and dry because of non supply, were in celebration mode on Friday.

Some 600 cusecs of water was let into the last of distributaries of the canal in the presence of elected representatives and the Government Chief Whip Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka.

This was the highest volume of flow ever received by the ayacutdars in the tail-end of this canal in the past one decade.
