Scholarships: officials told to help students

SRIKAKULAM: Joint Collector E. Sreedhar on Friday instructed officials concerned to see that students applying for scholarships through online did not face any difficulty and ensure payment of scholarships to students. . If there was any technical problem, the helpdesk in his office should be contacted. Reviewing payment of scholarships, fees etc with the principals of Government and private institutions, he instructed officials to ensure that there was no lapse of funds released for payment of scholarships. He warned of severe action if managements harass students for payment of fees, since the Government had been paying the fees. He also wanted officials to obtain utility certificates from the managements for scholarships released last year. Deputy Director of Tribal Welfare, B.S.R. Babji informed that all tribals students had received scholarships last year .
