Four-day food processing exhibition opens

Tastes good: Visitors at the International Food Pro and Bakery Tech expo at Palace Grounds in Bangalore on Friday.

Bangalore: Three concurrent exhibitions on food processing equipment and machinery got under way in the city on Friday. The International Rice and Grain Tech exhibition features rice milling equipment, agricultural machinery and equipment, irrigation systems, greenhouse accessories and packaging equipment. The International Food Pro and Bakery Tech showcases baking and confectionery equipment for large-scale manufacture. Also on at the same venue is the International Agri and Flora Tech. Inaugurating the four-day exhibitions, J. Crasta, President, Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry, said the event has “come at the right time, because industrial activity is gradually picking up”. He said the food processing industry offers “great opportunities” for investors.
