Jharkhand labourers cheated

CHENNAI: About 35 labourers of Jharkhand were allegedly cheated by a gang that promised them of lucrative jobs in Qatar.

Police said Santhosh and 34 others were promised jobs by an agent based in Adyar and his accomplice. They took about Rs.3 lakh from them as ticket and visa charges. The accused told the job-seekers that they should report at the Chennai airport on November 1 around noon.

After waiting for long at the airport, they realised that they were cheated.
