CHENNAI: Officials of the Air Intelligence Unit of Customs at the Chennai airport seized 1,141 grams of gold jewellery from two passengers who arrived from Sri Lanka on Thursday. An official release stated that the authorities, on suspicion, intercepted a girl and her father. They were carrying the gold in the form of crude jewellery and failed to declare it. The total value of the gold is Rs.19.20 lakh. In another case, button blanks made of deer antlers were seized and sent to the officials of the Wildlife Crime Control Bureau, Southern Region.
