BANGALORE: The Karnataka High Court on Friday granted an interim stay against the supersession of the Karnataka State Board of Wakfs. Justice Ajit Gunjal passed the order on a petition by Wakf Board Chairman Khalid Ahamed and several of its members. QuestionedThe petitioners questioned the superseding of the board, saying that it is illegal and unconstitutional. They said the decision had been taken hastily and without giving any thought for the law. They urged the court to stay the superseding of the board. The Government advocate contended that an Administrator had already been appointed to the board and that he had already taken charge. Justice Ajit Gunjal ordered a stay till Friday next.
