Big burglary in Rajajinagar

Bangalore: Gold jewellery weighing about 2 kg and Rs. 5 lakh in cash and other valuables were stolen from a house on 1st ‘A’ Main of Rajajinagar B Block in the city. The loss was estimated at Rs. 40 lakh.

According to the police, the thieves cut the locks and entered. House owner L.R. Lakshman Babu (47), proprietor of a travel agency, had gone to Shirdi in Maharashtra on November 3. He returned on Thursday night to discover the burglary.

Chains snatched

Chain-snatchers on two-wheelers made away with gold chains from three women in separate incidents on Thursday. Geetha Suresh was accosted around 8 p.m. near the Government College at 13th cross of 4th Main in Malleshwaram, Vidya Vinayak of Sampangi Layout in Vijayanagar ataround 7.30 p.m. and Sakku Bai of ISRO Layout at 8.30 p.m.
