SRINAGAR: Defending the Centre’s decision to ban pre-paid mobile connections in Jammu and Kashmir, Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy Farooq Abdullah on Friday said the ban was temporary. “The decision was taken under compulsion to check the misuse of cell phones, as a number of users have connections on other names and addresses,” he told journalists here. — PTI © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
