BHUBANESWAR: A two-day-old road blockade agitation by thousands of tribals in Chandiposh area of Sundargarh demanding release of 30 villagers arrested for alleged Maoist links was lifted on Saturday afternoon after the administration assured to look into the matter. The tribals, who have been agitating since the arrest of the 30 persons on August 27, started blocking the national highway near Silipunji as well as the Rourkela-Barsuan railway line since Saturday morning. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
