Ganguly back in Bengal squad

KOLKATA: Former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly is back in first-class cricket figuring in the Bengal squad that will take on Baroda in the Ranji Trophy super league match at the Eden Gardens on Tuesday.

The selectors picked Ganguly, who expressed his desire turn out in the home matches of Bengal after being named as the skipper of IPL side Kolkata Knight Riders.

There will be some changes in the Bengal side that won the previous tie against Maharashtra owing to the absence of three first-eleven players Wriddhiman Saha, Manoj Tiwary and Ashok Dinda who have been picked for the Board Presidents XI squad that plays against the visiting Sri Lankans. Also missing in action will be Rohan Gavaskar, who is nursing a groin injury.

Ganguly, Anustup Majumdar, Sayan Sekhar Mondal and Parthasarathi Bhattacharya also make it to the squad.
