Nation proud of Azmi: Mulayam

LUCKNOW: Samajwadi Party president Mulayam Singh slammed the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) for the assault on his party MLA Abu Aasim Azmi in the Maharashtra Assembly during the oath-taking ceremony on Monday.

Mr. Azmi, who is also the president of the State unit of the Samajwadi Party, was manhandled by the MNS MLAs for taking the oath in Hindi.

Mr. Singh lauded Mr. Azmi for taking oath in Hindi. The MLA had done a great service to the national language. He added that the entire nation would feel proud of Mr. Azmi.

The SP was unfazed by such incidents, he added.
