Alvin bats well

IDUKKI: Alvin scored an unbeaten 79 as host Idukki made 263 for four in its allotted 70 overs on the opening day of its two-day game against Ernakulam in the Central Zone under-14 inter-district cricket championship on Thursday. Ernakulam made 64 for one in reply.

The other match between Palakkad and Thrissur could because of overnight rain.

The scores: Idukki 263 for four in 70 overs (Alvin 79 n.o., Shanthanu 49, Ajith 57, Samdev 32) v Ernakulam 64 for one in 23 overs.
