Say no to animal testing

COURTESY: PEOPLE FOR ANIMALS

To be cared for

Most of the new chemicals and household products introduced in the market are tested on animals. These tests ignore the important variable species differences. The Draize Eye Irritancy test is an extremely long and painful cosmetic test. Chemicals and shampoos are tested on one eye of an Albino rabbit, all the while comparing it to the other eye. This test takes several days. Scientifically the eye of the rabbit is a poor example of the human eye because of differences like thickness, tissue structure, tearing mechanisms and biochemistry of rabbit cornea. So the next time you buy anything make sure that no animal has given its life for it.
